candidate support providers

Unfortunately, many teachers in Utah work in a district that does not offer support for NB candidates.  Let's change that by building a strong network of PLFs throughout our state. As a PLF, you not only support other teachers on their journey to becoming an NBCT, you also continue to grow and learn yourself.  Being a PLF is very rewarding and beneficial, and it helps to strengthen our profession through the networking and collaboration it fosters.  In addition, it's a great way to stay involved as an NBCT and develop your leadership skills. A small stipend is provided to PLFs who we place with an NB candidate, but the PLF must participate in PLF training through UNBC. Please email UNBC to let us know of your interest in becoming a PLF.

how Do I get trained as a PLF?

UNBC will also hold local trainings. Be sure to join UNBC to get updates on all our workshops.

All PLFs eligible for a stipend from UNBC must submit their accountability form no later than June 15 of the year their candidate submits their component work to NBPTS.  Please download the PLF Accountability Form and email a completed form to utahnationalboardcoalition@gmail.com

Please note:  in order to help increase our networking and strengthen our PLF pool, all efforts will be made to insure each PLF supports only one National Board Candidate.
